One-day tour with sunrise and sunset

Day 1: Starting the tour early, we leave from your accommodation (hotel or guest house) at 4:45am to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat, then return to your hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we set out again to visit the city of Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple. It’s the highlight temple in the center of Angkor Thom city, with 49 towers in which every tower has 4 faces, so that means there are 196 faces of Budhhistsatva Avalokestesvara. Then we walk to the next temple nearby called Baphoun, which is a Hindu temple built before Angkor Wat in the 11th century. The big Reclining Buddha behind it was built in the 16th century, & we continue to Royal Enclosure Wall nearby with a visit to Elephant & Leper King Terrace, still within the complex of Angkor Thom. Then we continue to outside the Angkor Thom complex to visit Ta Prohm temple on the small circuit road. This temple is one with a lot of gigantic tree roots over the temple and is the place where Hollywood made the movie “Tomb Raider.”.

After a busy couple of hours in the morning around 12:30pm, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, approximately 1:30pm or 2:00pm, we’ll visit the world-famous Angkor Wat temple. It really is amazing! Our tour will conclude when we return you to your hotel around 4:00 pm.

The starting time to guarantee being in time to see the sunrise is 4:45am, and the tour will be finished around 4:00pm. This will depend on the itinerary and the pace you set at every temple. Our tour guide and driver will come to pick you up from your hotel lobby; please be ready in the lobby before 4.45am.

Tour Tips
  • Please be aware that you will need to wear appropriate clothing when visiting some of our temples, including Phnom Bakheng, Angkor Wat, and Baphoun inside Angkor Thom. This means your pants or skirt should  cover your  knees and shirt cannot be  sleeveless (make sure that your shirt covers  your shoulders, no singlets!) Otherwise, you won’t be allowed  entry or to climb up; this is by Temples Authority.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and wearing light cotton clothes is suggested as well for the weather from March to July, as it’s very hot with high humidity.
  • We suggest you bring your camera charger, then you can recharge it during your lunch break at the restaurant.
  • The official currency in Cambodia is the Cambodian Riel (KHR); however, USD is used everywhere in the country, and most of the prices are set in USD. We advise you to bring US$ and remember to bring new and clean bank notes, as the old or torn notes will not be accepted at most places. ATMs are almost everywhere in the city, making it easy to withdraw cash in USD. The exchange rate is usually roughly KHR4000 to US$1, so if you give US$2 for something that costs KHR6000, you will usually receive back KHR2000.

REMARK:

Payment of tour fees will be required to at the end of tour only (you are not required to pay in advance or deposit at all) and pay in cash in USD only ( NO payment by credit cards )

FAQ:

Q: Is it OK to tip the guide/driver?
A: Yes, it is OK. If you would like to.
